Size

Fit PC2 is tiny compared to traditional desktop PCs. In fact it's tiny compared to practically anything.

At just 10cm x 11cm x 2.7cm, Fit PC2 is this size of a wireless router and approximately 90 times smaller than a standard desktop tower.

Which all means that Fit PC2 will fit in even the tightest spaces where required, or just free up (under-) desk space.

For instance you can mount it very unobtrusively behind your desktop monitor, using the specially designed 100mm VESA mount.

Or mount it to the underside of your desk, putting it completely out of sight.

High Performance

When you hear 'Green technology' the temptation is to assume that it comes with the required functionality compromise - so for a Green PC the assumption is that you'll get sluggish performance or long delays to load a simple webpage.

Once again though, Fit PC breaks the mould - it really is a regular Desktop PC, and 80% of users wont notice any difference between Fit PC and their current PC.

We say 80% of users, because there are of course limitations, but ones that the vast majority of PC users will not notice. The limitations are that FIt PC2 wont do 3D gaming or high-demand architectural/engineering design programmes which both need the extra power provided by a 200 watt computer.

Ruggedness & Reliability

Fanless

In a PC, the most likelty components to fail its the moving parts. In general this means one of the many fans in a PC (PSU fan, graphics card fan, ect), and when they fail they bring down whatever it is they're keeping from burning up due to the heat given off by the PC.

Fit PC2 uses MUCH less energy and so does not need a fan to cool it, meaning there's no fan to fail and that the PC itself wont overheat either.

Industrial Design

Additionally, the components that FIt PC2 does have also contribute to greater reliability. Manufactured with high-grade, industrial components, and using Industrial techniques (all components are embedded on-board, except the Hard Drive), Fit PC2 and 2i are both designed from the ground up for ruggedness and long-term reliability.

And the facts dont lie - Fit PC2 has a RMA rate of less than 1% (since April 2009).

Fanless, Silent running

Another major benefit of Fit PC2 is its Fanless design.

Other PCs require a fan to blow heat quickly away from the PC and make sure it doesnt overheat. Fit PC2 produces 90% less heat and doesnt need to remove it so quickly, so instead the Casing of the PC is used to conduct the waste energy away from the PC (which is why the case feels pretty warm to the touch).

So, why is being fanless such an advantage? Well firstly, reliability. As any IT professional will tell you, the fan is the most likely component of a PC to fail. And more than that, when it does fail other components overheat and then fail themselves (which is usually the first sign that the fan has stopped working).

Removing the fan gives Fit PC2 much higher reliability than other PCs, even before you get to its rugged design and industrial components.

Other major advantages to not needing a fan are no annoying background whirring noises from your PC, and no uncomfortable blasts of hot air under your desk. It also means Fit PC2 doesnt need much ventilation and so can be placed inside a draw for added security, also freeing up further space on or under the desk.

And finally it also means even further energy savings - fans ironically consume a surprisingly high proportion of your PC's electricity use just to blow the other energy away from your PC!
