What is Fit PC2?

Fit PC2 is very different from any PC you're used to.

Not in the way it works or how you use it - it still plugs into your standard monitor, you still click the mouse in the same way and move around the standard Windows operating systems in the way you're used to.

What make Fit PC so different though, is that it will do all of that while using 90% LESS ENERGY than your current desktop PC, and fits all of the standard PC functionality into a tiny box that is more than 90x SMALLER than a standard PC.

It really does stand out from the competition.

Of course, using 90% less energy means Fit PC2 has limitations - it wont do 3D gaming or run the most demanding Engineering / Design programmes as quickly as a full 200W PC - but for any other standard PC usage, e.g. MS Offics, internet browsing etc, you really wont notice any  difference (apart from on your bills, and the massive space savings).

And the clincher is that Fit PCs are ideal for either Domestic, Commercial or Industrial applications, with 2.5 years of proven reliability (fault rate of less than 1%). And what's more with Fit PC reliability does not mean lack of performance or innovation - we have introduced a number of new models and features over the past 30 months, but Fit PC's ultimate reliability is always at the core of our product development strategy and we have a unique track record of combining reliability with high-performance and innovation (as well as competitive price).

Further details on FIt PC2, including the various models available, full specifications and prices are available in the relevant areas of this site.

Take a look  and you'll see that Fit PC2 really is exactly as good as it sounds...

Where to Use Fit PC2 and 2i?

With Fit PC2 having such a unique combination of ultra-small footprint with high-performance, full-feature PC capacbilites, it is so much more than just a ridiculously low-power Desktop PC and it is impossible for us to list all of its applications and uses.

So instead, we'll just list Fit PC2's main Unique features and then in the other tabs we'll point just a few of the ways Fit PC2 can make your life easier and save you money, at Home, in the Office and in Educational Institutions.

With its tiny size a Fit PC will fit into any space, its rugged design and lack of moving parts means unrivalled reliability and full, PC-level performance ensures that at last small size and energy-efficiency don’t mean compromise on functionality.

Uses in the home include always-on download and streaming centre, media player and of course as a standard Desktop PC, with the major advantage of savings at least £60 in electricity in just one year compared to your current PC.

In your business, use a Fit PC2 as your PC (saving up to £100 per year, per PC in electricity), as a server, or network firewall (Fit PC2i).

FitPC2 is also perfect in Education too, helping Institutions to easily keep pace (and even outpace) Government regulations on energy efficiency. There are also an ever-increasing number of Loans, Grants and Subsidies available to Public Sector institutions for Energy Efficiency projects, and reducing your IT energy use by 80% is as big as they get.

And outside the above stand-alone uses, Fit PC2’s size and performance are being utilised in a wide range of OEM and Industrial products, from Digital Signage systems to IP CCTV cameras.

Fit PC2 For Business

Increases in government regulations on energy efficiency in the business place, using both stick and carrot, mean that going 'Green' is not just an ethical issue but a financial one as well.

IT can contribute well over 50% of a company's electricity usage, and for the requirements of the majority of Business computer users that electricity is largely wasted.

Companies round the UK who are already using Fit PC2s can attest to the seamless transition - using all the same applications, on the same operating systems. The only differences being nothing restricting your leg room (mount your Fit PC2 on the back of the monitor!) and 40% lower electricity bills contributed to by reducing their IT electricity usage by ~90%. Additionally, you save twice as there's no need for expensive air-conditioning to remove the heat given off by your PCs.

Green Funding

And there are an ever increasing sources of funding and subsidies for Green technologies, and Fit PC2 provides such substantial energy savings that it qualifies for all funding schemes currently available, including Carbon Trust 0% Loans among others.

Fit PC2 For Education

The major requirements for IT in Education are Robustness, to withstand the daily impact of the student hordes, and long-term Reliability to ensure stability of IT services throughout the School or University.

Both of the above are hallmark attributes of Fit PC2 / 2i, with Industrial Build and Components making the Fit PC2 range the most Robust and Reliable PC ever made.

The other major worry is the ability to keep a stable IT hardware infrastructure, and with all Fit PC2 models guaranteed to be available through 2015 you can plan your IT future with confidence that Fit PC2 models will be around for years to come.

Financially Viable

And of course you get the headline unique advantages of the Fit PC2 range – Ultra-Low running costs contributing energy savings of up to £100 per computer, per year, and Tiny size (90x smaller than a standard Desktop) freeing up desk and floor space in your computer rooms.

These savings mean that Fit PC2 also qualifies for every Green Fund, Subsudy or Grant available, so Fit PC2 will provide immediate financial benefits as well as on-going savings year-on-year.

Starting from £290 for the Linux version (ie no Operating system cost so you can image on your own site license OS) for the standard Fit PC2, there’s no inflated price tag for all of the above advantages, and Fit PC2 starts paying itself back in both energy savings and Government subsidy from day 1.

Fit PC2 For Home

 Fit PC2 for the Home

If you’re considering changing your home desktop PC and are looking at a standard Dell PC, then here are a couple of questions to consider:

  1. Do you use your PC for anything more than browsing the internet (downloading, watching iPlayer/Youtube, email), Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.) with 5-8 applications running at the same time?
  2. Do you need the ability to run 3-D games (World of Warcraft, etc.)?
  3. Do you run highly memory/processor-intensive programmes such as CAD based design programmes (mainly used by Architects and Engineers)?

If your answers to the above questions are (like >75% of all PC users) all “No” then you do not need to be paying £150 per year running your big, energy guzzling Dell (or equivalent) Desktop PC and there is no reason for you put up with a big-tower-cramping-your-desktop-space-while-pumping-out-hot-air-to-remove-the-massive-amounts-of-energy-being-wasted-just-to-sit-idly-by type of PC any more.

Same Performance, 90% more efficient

The alternative then is to use a Fit PC2 as your Home desktop PC instead, keeping ALL the functionality you need, with absolutely zero performance compromise (you wont even realise you are using a 10W PC) and using less than 10% of the energy any other desktop PC will need. That’s electricity savings of approximately £50 per year even for a light PC user, and more if you leave your PC on for more than about 7-8 hours a day.

Fit PC2 does cost more than your Dell PC - by about £100 compared the equivalent PC – but this is mainly due to the much higher quality of components and build of Fit PC2 which, along with the lack of fan, give all Fit PC2 models much higher reliability than any other PC.

And as well as that, the £100 is paid back by your Fit PC2 within 2 years on electricity costs alone, and the other benefits, such as increased comfort of having a PC that fits on the back of your monitor instead of knocks into your knees under the desk, make Fit PC2 a various serious choice for your home Desktop PC.

Marine PC

Fit PC2 is changing the face of Marine PCs, providing all the ruggedness and reliability required on a Marine vessel, with high performance, 12V DC input and low power requirements.

And what's more, it all comes at retail prices starting from £229 + VAT, compared to current Marine PCs that cost £1,000 and up!

If you require Serial port, Dual Gigabit LAN or Wake-on-LAN then the new Fit PC2i model is for you. If you dont require any of those but still need optimum reliability, wide temperature ranges, tiny form factor, low energy requirements and high performance - then the regular Fit PC2 will provide all of that for your Industrial application.
