"How To... Replace your Fit PC2's Hard Drive

Replacing the Hard drive in your Fit PC2 is an easy and quick 3-step process, and does NOT void the warrantee at all (unless you use a hammer in any of the stages below, which is anyway not advised).

What you will need is:

1) Phillips (cross-head) screwdriver - small to medium size.

2) These instructions. Please note - all instructions refer to all Fit PC2 and 2i models, so we will just use 'Fit PC2' to refer to both versions.

STEP 1:

Turn over your Fit PC2, so that the FitPC2 logo is facing the desk. You should now see the following - the 4 highlighted screws are the ones that are

connected to the Drive inside the PC, and are the ones you need to unscrew to replace / remove it.

STEP 2:

Unscrew the 4 screws, and then remove the drive. There are two ways to remove the drive, either by just sliding it out with your fingers or if you find you cannot easily slide it out just use one of the screws to connect the storage bay's cap (90-degree metal plate) to one of the Drive's corners and then slide out using the plate as a handle (see picture).

STEP 3:

Insert the new drive into the slot, and then reverse Step 2 to screw down the new Drive and the bay's closing cap.

Note: when securing down the Drive, we recommend inserting two corner screws first and securing them to make sure that the drive is aligned with all 4 holes, and then securing the remaining two screws.
